Created with a variety of inks and pigments, her paintings reveal a focus on the medium itself. She is interested in the integration of traditional subject matter with contemporary styles and techniques. Born in 1976 in Princeton, New Jersey, Harris grew up on the east coast in Washington DC and outside of New York City. Encouraged by the diversity of art that New York had to offer, Maeve explored the tradition and historical importance of works at the Metropolitan Museum to installations and contemporary pieces at galleries in SoHo. Harris moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1994 where she attended Arizona State and received her BFA in photography. Her work in photographic processes carried into printmaking and eventually came full circle to painting. I reference photographs both found and of my own as inspiration in my paintings. I also enjoy experimentation with material used in other media to push the limits of paint. Travel and adventure are an important part of her life, and she draws from her experiences an optimistic and wholehearted spirit. She enjoys love and laughter and a good bottle of wine, and is a story teller at heart. Currently, Maeve resides in Seattle, Washington, where she paints from her home on Queen Anne Hill.

Created with a variety of inks and pigments, her paintings reveal a focus on the medium itself. Born in 1976 in Princeton, New Jersey, Harris grew up on the east coast in Washington DC and outside of New York City. She became an avid equestrian with her love of horses and the art of dressage. It is a truly beautiful experience between humans and animals to communicate through body, mind and motion.
Encouraged by the diversity of art that New York had to offer, Maeve explored the tradition and historical importance of works at the Metropolitan Museum to installations and contemporary pieces at galleries in SoHo. I reference photographs both found and of my own as inspiration in my paintings. I also enjoy experimentation with material used in other media to push the limits of paint.
Studying abroad in Florence, Italy, richly influenced Harris life both personally and artistically and led to visits to over fifteen countries in Europe. Travel and adventure are an important part of her life, and she draws from her experiences an optimistic and wholehearted spirit. Currently, Maeve resides in Seattle, Washington, where she paints from her home on Queen Anne Hill.
